Awards
OMCYA Awards
The National Awards for Services to Children and Young People 2010 were presented by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Mr Barry Andrews TD, in Dublin Castle on 9th March 2010. We are pleased to announce that Trinity House School received the 'Overall Winner' of the 2010 Awards for our Adventure Therapy Project. The Project also won the Effective Practice in Youth Justice category. The goals and objectives of the Adventure Therapy Service are to give young people in detention the confidence and ability to face new challenges while at the same time teaching them to interact more positively and gain a greater understanding of others.
Green Flag Award
The Green Flag was awarded to Trinity House School on 4th March 2010.
It was decided in 2008 that we would attempt to gain the Green Flag Award. Our first goal was to reduce and reuse our waste and secondly and most important was to teach the young people about the environment and the issues that face the next generation. Our Green School Focus Group was established with a Representative from each area within the school, with the young people holding vital positions on the Committee, including Chairperson and Secretary. Over the past two years we were successful in reducing our waste by 30%. We aim to continue with our goals and are now actively researching our plans for the next level of the Green Flag - Energy Efficiency.
Junior Certificate
Our Young People are eagerly awaiting their Junior Certificate results in the coming weeks.
