It is one of four Detention Schools under the auspices of the Irish Youth Justice Service (Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform).
It is located in the hinterland of Lusk, Co Dublin and is one of three Detention Schools on the campus.
We provide secure residential and individualised care, education, rehabilitation and aftercare for up to 27 residents who are admitted through the court system.
As advocates, we promote the Rights of the Child at all times and operate under the Children Act 2001, National Children's Strategy 2000, National Youth Justice Strategy (2008-2010) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
We emphasize the importance of building mutual relationships and trust between staff and young people. All our Programmes are delivered through a holistic and cohesive approach which is specific to meeting the needs of each young person in our care, so as to achieve the optimum outcomes.
We provide a wide range of activities, services and training for the young people in order to support them throughout this difficult period in their lives.
We work in close partnership with parent/guardians and a broad network of agencies during their time here, and for a two year period thereafter.
Our staff team consists of qualified care, teaching and ancillary teams who are highly skilled, experienced and dedicated in their work.
We support staff in ongoing personal development and training in order to equip them adequately to deliver the highest standards of service.
We encourage innovation and diverse thinking from all areas of the workplace so as to be more effective in this unique environment.
